Technical Trainer – Cloud 

OpsWerks is a technical consulting company specializing in operational services for the high-tech industry. We help platform and infrastructure teams operate multi-cloud environments, execute complex migrations, and enable seamless app deployments.

Your Role

• We are building a Technical Enablement team from the ground up to serve engineers across our organization. As our Technical Trainer - Cloud, you'll design, deliver, and assess cloud-focused technical training that directly improves operational outcomes and builds the next generation of engineering talent. 

  You'll own the complete learning cycle: curriculum design, hands-on delivery, assessment creation, and measuring real-world impact. 

  • Create comprehensive training curricula for cloud technologies (AWS/GCP focus) 

  • Deliver engaging technical training sessions to engineers at all levels

  • Design assessments that measure actual learning and competency 

  • Analyze training effectiveness data and continuously improve your curriculum 

  • Collaborate with our Cloud Engineer to design hands-on lab exercises 

  • Stay current with cloud platform updates and industry best practices

Your Qualifications

• Teaching & Training Expertise: 

  • 3+ years of experience as a technical trainer (corporate training, training provider, or similar role) 

  • Proven track record of designing effective technical curriculum from scratch 

  • Experience delivering engaging technical training to diverse technical audiences 

  • Ability to create learning materials (slide decks, exercises, labs, assessments) and design hands-on cloud exercises and scenarios 

  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills (remote and in-person) 

  Cloud Technologies Expertise: 

  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP) 

  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture, services, and best practices 

  Assessment & Measurement: 

  • Experience designing assessments that measure competency 

  • Comfortable working with training metrics and effectiveness data 

  • Data-informed approach to curriculum improvement 

  Plus points if you have: 

  • Experience training engineers at major tech companies or established training providers 

  • Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional, etc.) 

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.) 

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Kubernetes 

  • Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, New Relic, etc.) 

  • Experience with SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering practices 

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) 

  • Understanding of chaos engineering or incident response concepts 

  • Formal training in instructional design or adult learning principles
