Technical Manager (Infrastructure)

OpsWerks is a technical consulting company specializing in operational services for the high-tech industry. We help platform and infrastructure teams operate multi-cloud environments, execute complex migrations, and enable seamless app deployments.

Your Role

We are looking for a Technical Manager to lead a team of Technical Leads and engineers supporting critical infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments. 

This role blends people leadership, technical direction, and operational excellence. You will help guide the team’s day-to-day execution, strengthen engineering practices, support customer-facing operations, and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure, automation, and service delivery. 

The ideal candidate is a strong infrastructure leader who understands hybrid environments, can work well with both customers and internal teams, and knows how to develop engineers while keeping operations stable and effective. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and manage a group of Technical Leads and engineers supporting production infrastructure and customer environments. 

• Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to help team members grow in delivery, operations, and leadership. 

• Run or support technical trainings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and mentoring programs across the team. 

• Help set priorities, align work across teams, and ensure operational commitments are delivered effectively. 

• Oversee infrastructure operations across hybrid environments, including on-premise systems and cloud platforms. 

• Support the team during major incidents, escalations, and service disruptions, and help drive resolution and clear communication. 

• Drive automation and process improvements to reduce manual work and strengthen service quality. 

• Work closely with customers, stakeholders, and internal leaders to communicate needs, updates, and operational direction. 

• Review team workload, skill coverage, and ways of working to help maintain healthy and sustainable operations. 

• Mentor Technical Leads in execution, decision-making, and people leadership. 

Your Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or operations roles supporting production environments 

• 3+ years of experience leading engineers, technical leads, or infrastructure-focused teams 

• Strong experience working in hybrid environments, including both on-premise infrastructure and cloud platforms 

• Solid background in Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and infrastructure operations 

• Experience with automation, scripting, or Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Bash, or Python 

• Strong understanding of high-availability environments, operational support, escalation handling, and service reliability 

• Ability to lead through incidents and operational challenges while maintaining clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

• Experience mentoring engineers and helping teams grow in both technical capability and operational maturity 

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across customers, projects, and internal initiatives 

Plus points if you have:

• Experience managing teams that support 24/7 operations or on-call environments 

• Exposure to cloud platforms and services such as AWS, including compute, networking, identity, and container platforms 

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or modern platform technologies

• Relevant certifications in infrastructure, cloud, or leadership-related domains
