We are looking for a Technical Learning Lead to manager the full technical training cycle for the company’s internship program and Product Services Group (PSG). As the Technical Learning Lead you will have the opportunity to build the IT Engineering Skills Training program for our engineering workforce. We are in the early stage of a multi-year strategy and you will own, soup to nuts, our process of designing and delivering technical professional development. Your skills in managing large programs, organizational effectiveness, change management, learning and IT Engineering skills will be critical to ensure engagement and adoption of this new program.

You'll support this effort by:

  • Project managing the efforts to support the program launch (that includes systems, business processes, training deployment, and change management).

  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure our Learning Management System (LMS) and the LMS Suppliers will perform the needed functionality to provide a seamless and positive user experience

  • Creating technical learning and development programs for teams and groups
  • Providing consulting services for technical skills training to internal client groups
  • Managing external vendors and training suppliers.

As Training Lead you will work collaboratively with all aspects of the business to create a structured, open and sustained learning environment.

You will develop a custom training plan for The Academy Internship and work with PSG for their continuous upskilling. Monitor the overall effectiveness of programs and ensures all are implemented within quality standards.

You will deliver on tight timeframes for training completion, with an average completion percentage in the 90th percentile.

You will hold our people to high work behavior standards, giving in the moment relevant and specific feedback while leading the learning specialists in providing overall learning program structure.

Your Responsibilities


Learning Management

  • Develop a custom training plan for The Academy Internship and work with Product Services Group for their continuous upskilling. Monitors the overall effectiveness of programs and ensure all are implemented within quality standards.
  • Deliver on tight timeframes for training completion, with an average completion percentage in the 90th percentile.
  • Hold our people to high work behavior standards, giving in the moment relevant and specific feedback while leading the learning specialists in providing overall learning program structure.
  • Developing technical training courses for various levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced)
  • Coordinate Learning Management System (LM) product-related trainings, including presenting new features and simulating activities in a demo environment

Data Analysis

  • Review data and market research and consults with the business to recommend and implement a training plan that addresses both business demand and talent availability; reviews and analyzes data to improve engineering performance.
  • Conduct regular individual and team skills gap analysis

Your Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR 5+ years technical training experience in information and technology or industry experience related to role
  • Minimum four (4) years in a leadership role working with project or functional teams.
  • Experience in developing technical course content both for novices and experts with technology
  • Minimum of two (2) years of web-based learning platforms and modern educational techniques; such as learning management systems (LMS’s), basic learning technologies (e.g., webinar tools, Adobe Connect, Articulate Storyline, Canvas, Absorb, Moodle, Open edX)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical terms using simple language
  • Additional certification in training (e.g. Certified Technical Trainer) is a plus 


Your Team

In this role, you’ll report to the Head of Learning & Development. Day-to-day you’ll work closely with other teammates.
