Senior IT Engineer
OpsWerks is a technical consulting company specializing in operational services for the high-tech industry. We help platform and infrastructure teams operate multi-cloud environments, execute complex migrations, and enable seamless app deployments.
Your Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior IT Engineer to ensure high system availability, performance, and security across both on‑premises and cloud environments. This role focuses on IT operations, infrastructure management, and enterprise system support, covering cloud platforms, SaaS applications, network services, and internal business systems.
You will work closely with engineering, operations, and business teams to troubleshoot incidents, maintain stable and secure systems, and continuously improve infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
System Reliability, Performance & Security
Serve as an escalation point for support issues requiring elevated system permissions, cross-platform troubleshooting, or deeper technical expertise.
Proactively reduce recurring incidents by identifying and addressing underlying root causes.
Drive operational efficiency by reducing manual workload and repetitive tasks
Ensure endpoint security and compliance through centralized configuration management, device monitoring, and policy enforcement systems
Provide support for web platforms and productivity integrations
Maintain high availability, optimized performance, capacity planning, disaster recovery readiness, and a strong security posture across on‑premises and cloud environments
Continuously stay updated and adept in the latest IT and cybersecurity trends
Cloud & Infrastructure Management
Support and maintain AWS cloud environments, including EC2, S3, IAM, networking, and security policies
Administer and maintain applications across development, staging, and production environments
Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (AzureRM provider preferred), AWS CloudFormation, or Azure ARM Templates / Bicep
Office 365 Administration
Administer and manage Office 365 services including: Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, MS Security and compliance features
Application & Operational Support
Provide advanced support for complex incidents across cloud infrastructure, endpoints, SaaS platforms, networking, and internal systems.
Perform advanced diagnostics, log analysis, and root cause validation.
Coordinate with vendors or third-party providers when necessary.
Ensure incidents are resolved within SLA and properly documented.
Collaborate with development teams to resolve environment and deployment issues
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
CI/CD, Automation & DevOps Practices
Maintain and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines
Implement automation for testing, builds, deployments, and release management
Use tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Ansible to reduce manual operational work
Promote DevOps best practices across teams
Your Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience as an IT Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Systems Administrator, or System Engineer in an enterprise IT infrastructure
Hands‑on expertise with Linux systems and administration.
Extensive hands‑on experience administering Office 365 E5/E3, including Azure, Exchange Online, and SharePoint.
Experience supporting and operating cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting; experience with Bash or Python is a strong advantage.
Strong troubleshooting skills and an operational mindset..
Working knowledge of Git for version control
Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, DNS, VPN, and enterprise security.
Experience in mentoring IT and DevOps engineers to elevate technical capabilities and confidence.
Ability to work in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment
Adaptable and forward‑thinking, with the ability to perform technology research and POC testing to improve IT processes.
