Senior Cloud Engineer

Your Role

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep operational and troubleshooting expertise to support large-scale AWS production environments. While our platform operations are centered on AWS, we value strong engineering fundamentals above single-vendor specialization—engineers with deep production experience in GCP or Azure who are eager to apply their expertise to AWS are strongly encouraged to apply. 

In this role, you will take ownership of critical production incidents, diagnose complex distributed system issues, maintain Kubernetes-based workloads, and streamline cloud operations using modern automation tools.

• Deep-Dive Troubleshooting: Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) and mitigation for complex, high-severity operational and platform incidents.

• Production Operations: Support, optimize, and maintain critical AWS cloud environments and containerized workloads. 

• Automation & IaC: Eliminate operational friction by managing and provisioning cloud resources as code (IaC) and automating recurring remediation tasks. 

• Technical Escalation & Mentorship: Act as a senior technical escalation point, review technical changes, and mentor junior engineers on operational excellence. 

• Demonstrate leadership in day-to-day execution—helping prioritize work, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and driving a calm, structured approach during high-pressure situations. 

• Participate in an on-call rotation as part of a 24/7 operations model, with proper handoffs and team support. 

Your Qualifications

• Strong Troubleshooting DNA: Proven ability to isolate, debug, and resolve complex issues across networking, storage, compute, and platform layers under pressure.

• Cloud Platform Experience: Strong hands-on experience operating production environments in AWS (e.g., VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, EKS, CloudWatch) — OR senior-level production experience in GCP/Azure with a strong grasp of core cloud architecture. 

• Container Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, AKS, or bare-metal K8s) in production environments.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Solid experience managing cloud resources using Terraform or Crossplane. 

• Incident Ownership: Experience driving blameless post-mortems, defining preventive action items, and communicating clearly during critical incidents. 

Plus points if you have:

• Hands-on experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Kyverno, Consul). 

• Experience with advanced Kubernetes autoscaling using Karpenter.

• Scripting and automation proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go. 

• Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications (e.g., CKA, CKAD, AWS Solutions Architect/SysOps).
