We are currently looking for a Database Reliability Engineer  who has a working experience on databases, queueing services and real time data feeds. As part of your responsibilities, you are to enable and empower users of the Platform by helping them in abstracting Infrastructure, Platform, and Data services reported issues. You are also expected to fulfill internal projects that improves Platform’s overall technical debt.

The Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) is a critical, hands-on role and will be responsible for maintaining/updating/upgrading SQL database instances in private and public cloud infrastructures. This person will also perform proactive monitoring, maintenance and working with development teams to troubleshoot performance, reliability and root cause analysis. Duties And Responsibilities would include the following:

  • Creating and managing the ODB environments that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs
  • Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance
  • Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues
  • Understanding Caché, underlining system and database upgrades and updates to production and non-production environments
  • Configuring and maintaining environment copies according to the environment strategy
  • Engaging in capacity planning testing to ensure adequate system resources
  • Writing and maintaining scripts to improve system management tasks
  • Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity
  • Work with a wide range of customers (software and engineering teams) to support their workflows in the existing platform
  • Write clear and consumable documentation
  • Perform root cause analysis, identify and resolve underlying problem patterns, while driving to develop automated and self-healing solutions
  • The role requires 8-hour rotating shift on a 24x7 coverage.


  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in administering Oracle (RDBMS)
  • 1-2 years production Linux experience
  • A solid understanding of the DevOps methodology and at least 2 years working with it in a professional environment
  • Proficient in log analysis and monitoring with hand-on experience using tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana
  • Able to create automation scripts in Bash, Python, or GoLang
  • Proficient in distributed versioning systems and artifact management such as GIT and Artifactory
  • Knowledgeable in the operations, design, architecture, and management of Cloud based Infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and other similar technologies
  • Experience with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Amenable to work in a shifting schedule on a 24x7 environment.


  • Software Development experience

  • Experience in performance tuning of various databases
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef 
  • Experience with HashiCorp technologies such as Consul, Vault, Terraform and Nomad
  • Relevant Certifications on the Key qualifications
