Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Linux

At OpsWerks we're looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer with specialty on Linux to join our team.

Full-time · Manila

Your Role

  • Serve as subject matter expert for infrastructure operations at scale by sharing knowledge amongst peers, documenting best practices, and performing root cause analysis or recurring/high impacting incidents.

  • Lead incident response, triaging, and customer communications during system outages and production issues.

  • Lead and run periodic sync-up meetings with our customers to discuss updates, get clarity, and solicit feedback.

  • Gather and analyze operations metrics regularly to make informed decisions in driving operational and process improvements .

  • Develop or contribute to existing tools and automated solutions to improve efficiency in operations.

  • Be a member of a 24 x7 shifting rotation.

Your Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working on the following:

    • Infrastructure Management and Data Center Operations: Strong emphasis on automation, scalability, and reliability preferably within DevOps environment.

    • Operating Systems: RHEL / CentOS / Oracle Linux / Ubuntu

    • Automation: Bash, Python

    • Version Control: GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket

  • 3+ years of working on the following technologies:

    • Configuration Management: Ansible, Puppet

    • Container Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes

  • Leadership qualities to serve as an escalation resource and mentor junior engineers.

  • Strong sense of ownership, customer service, and integrity demonstrated through excellent written/verbal communication.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education.

Plus Points

  • Has RedHat Certified System Administrator Certification or higher.

  • Has strong experience managing data center life cycle (build, operate, decommision) practices.

  • Has experience working with load-balancing related technologies.

  • Has experience working with NGINX on a wide-scale implementation.

  • Lead infrastructure related projects to success.
