Your Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping how we build and deliver software solutions. Though you won't be pushing code, reviewing PRs, or doing hands-on implementation, your technical experience will guide technical direction and decisions.
In this role, you will lead an engineering team at a strategic level - coaching, mentoring, orchestrating delivery, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will be instrumental in the continuous growth of your team, empowering them to deliver high-quality technical solutions, while ensuring productivity, strong collaboration, and alignment of team strategies with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
Partner with Tech Leads to set best practices, coding standards, architectural guidelines, tool selection, and system design decisions.
Ensure that technical solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with overall technology strategy.
Stay up to date with the tech stack and emerging trends to challenge and evolve how we build.
People Management & Coaching
Hire, mentor, and grow talent across roles.
Conduct regular feedback and formal performance reviews.
Foster a high-trust, psychologically safe environment where people feel comfortable raising technical concerns, proposing ideas, and learning from mistakes.
Identify skill gaps, provide development paths, and coach your team members in both technical and soft-skills growth.
Strategy, Delivery & Execution
Own and drive the team’s roadmap in alignment with business and technology goals.
Oversee planning, estimation, timelines, and dependencies, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and with high quality.
Work to remove blockers and optimize team workflows.
Monitor engineering effectiveness via metrics, and continuously refine processes.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with Product Owners, Solutions Architects, and other leaders to define scope, deliverables, trade-offs, and priorities.
Ensure clear communication with stakeholders about progress, risks, and status of technical initiatives.
Facilitate cross-team initiatives and ensure alignment across teams when architecture, data, or security concerns span beyond your team.
Your Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
At least 3 years experience in technical leadership roles, involving architecture, system design, and guiding software engineering teams
A deep understanding of our tech stack (such as but not limited to Python, JS, SQL and NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, CI/CD, cloud platforms and container orchestration tools, ), enough to make informed decisions and guide others
At least 3 years experience in managing high-performing development teams
Experience in giving feedback, conducting performance reviews, and growing people technical and professionally
Strong collaborations skills, able to work across functions, influence technical direction, and communicate with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
A mindset of continuous improvement, always looking for ways to tools, practices, and processes
