Senior Cloud Engineer - Manila
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be overseeing the scope of our customers' systems and infrastructure, acting as an escalation point for complex issues.
You will manage and optimize our customers' cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across mission-critical environments.
You will design and implement innovative solutions for complex, business-critical challenges, driving continuous improvement and best practices.
You will collaborate closely with diverse software and engineering teams, providing technical expertise and strategic guidance to enhance workflows and platform efficiency.
You will lead troubleshooting efforts, providing expert analysis during emergency outages and working in tandem with customer teams to minimize downtime and impact.
You will conduct in-depth root cause analysis, identify systemic issues, and implement automated, resilient solutions, driving a shift toward self-healing infrastructure.
You will provide mentorship and support to cross-functional teams focusing on quality, performance, reliability, security, and compliance.
You will participate in a rotating schedule for 24×7 coverage, ensuring operational continuity and serving as a technical authority during critical incidents.
Bachelor’s degree or higher education
Minimum of 5 years experience working with the following:
Linux Systems Administration: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu
Cloud Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Infrastructure-as-a-Code (IaC) tools: Hashicorp Terraform, Pulumi, AWS CloudFormation, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools
Networking: TCP/IP, Firewalls (Security Groups, IPTables, ACLs), Load Balancing (ELB/ALBs, Citrix NetScalers, Kubernetes Ingress, NGINX or Envoy Reverse Proxy), Routing
Build and Release: Git/Github/Gitlab, Artifactory, CI/CD (Jenkins, TeamCity, AWS CodePipeline/CodeDeploy, Spinnaker, or similar tools), Java build tools such as Maven or Gradle
Containerization: Kubernetes, Docker, Hashicorp Nomad, EKS, ECS
Log and Monitoring: Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch, New Relic
Minimum 5 years of supporting Infrastructure in an Agile development environment
Proven proficiency in any of the following scripting languages: Bash, Python, or Go
Good grasp of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps culture and tooling
Must have at least one certification in any of the skills on key qualifications such as: Certified Kubernetes Administrator or Developer (CKA/CKAD), AWS Certified Practitioner, Solutions Architect, Developer, DevOps or Data Engineer, Google Cloud Engineer, Architect, Developer or DevOps Engineer
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledgeable in service mesh tools such as Istio and Consul
Experience with using SQL and NoSQL Databases like Oracle and Cassandra databases
Knowledgeable on Data Engineering platforms such as Apache Spark, Yarn, Hadoop, Iceberg, Trino, Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau, PowerBI
